The legends belong to the Valais as much as the mountains and the beautiful weather. They are part of the traditional Valais. Outside the Valais hardly anyone knows of these short tales. The legends seem outdated and thus forgotten. According to these ancient stories, there are ghosts, dwarfs, demons and dragons. Some legends convey values, others try to explain natural disasters and some legends seem to be reminiscent of famous fairy tales. However, what all legends have in common is that each story can be assigned a place that really exists.

So what do these places look like today?
